CENTRAL PA FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS ACCESSIBILITY

CPFA encourages persons with disabilities to attend its presentations.  All visual arts exhibitions are wheelchair-accessible.  The Festival Eyes program, offered cooperatively by CPFA and the Sight-Loss Support Group of Central Pennsylvania (SLSG), provides trained guides to the Sidewalk Sale & Exhibition for those with visual impairments or physical disabilities.  To become a Festival Eyes guide, one must participate in a specialized one-day training, provided by the SLSG.

The session includes low-vision simulation, demonstrations on sighted-guide techniques and wheelchair training.  Trainees are also taught how to describe artwork to the visually impaired.  Persons interested in training as guides or those who are interested in using this service should call the Sight-Loss Support Group at (814) 238-0132 or email the organization at slsg@papower.net.
